Tamil Nadu went through a tough period when protests and riots rocked the industrial town of Tuticorin. Many families were injured and death toll was reported to be 10. Many celebrities from the Tamil film industry condemned the retaliation by the police officials to disperse the crowd from protesting about the Sterlite Factory. Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth even visited the injured families of the protests and spoke to them about their situation. And the latest to visit Tuticorin is actor Vijay who visited the families to console them. Vijay visited Tuticorin and met the families to console them for their losses. Vijay travelled early in the morning today and met the families without much fanfare. Vijay was appreciated for the way he chose to meet the families without hype or much fanfare.

Actor Vijay will next team up with AR Murugadoss which is yet to be titled and is being referred to as Thalapathy 62 currently. The film is said to be an action-entertainer and will have Vijay playing a stylish role in it. The makers have completed important schedules involving Vijay in Chennai and Kolkata recently and are expected to resume shooting in the next few days, reports reveal. While this is in progress, it is being reported that the first look of the film may be revealed on Vijay’s birthday which falls on June 22nd. Reportedly, the makers are looking to release Thalapathy 62 during Diwali this year.

Vijay was last seen in Mersal in which he was seen playing triple roles. Directed by Atlee, Mersal was one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema last year after having earned a total collection of Rs.110 crores. The film also starred Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen and Samantha Akkineni as leading ladies. Mersal had actor-filmmaker SJ Suryah as the antagonist and was well appreciated for his role in the film.
