Super Rajinikanth will next be seen in Kaala which is said to be a gangster based film and is being directed by Pa Ranjith. Kaala is being produced by Rajinikanth’s son in law and actor-producer Dhanush under the banner Wunderbar films. Kaala will be the second time association of Rajinikanth and Pa Ranjith after the 2016 release Kabali.  Major portions of Kaala have been shot at Dharavi in Mumbai and a huge set has been erected near Chennai to replicate the sums of Dharavi, and the shooting will continue at the set.

According to a report in TOI, Kaala will also feature a rap band from Mumbai and will also have them rap a number in the film. The troupe named, Dopeadelicz, features four members – Tony Sebastian, Rajesh Radhakrishnan, Abhishek Kurme and Akhilesh Sutar. “Ranjith sir was doing a lot of research for Kaala when he heard about us and wanted us to be part of the movie. We play a hip-hop gang in the movie and have also done a track for it. We started singing in 2010 and by 2011 had released our tracks. By 2013, we had participated in a few television shows and had started giving live performances. We are a team that performs in five languages — Tamil, Marathi, English, Malayalam and Hindi,” the report in TOI quoted Tony, one of the members in the group.

And as any Rajinikanth fan would be, the group members were awe stuck when they met Super Star Rajinikanth during the making of Kaala. “We met him for the first time and didn’t know what to speak. We were surprised and kept staring at him. This is our first time in Tamil movies and we always wanted to work in the industry. We have always had this feeling of staying far away from where we belong. So, when we got this opportunity, we grabbed it,” Tony added further.
