Actor-filmmaker Prabhudheva’s upcoming Tamil silent thriller film Mercury will be hitting the screens on April 13. Prabhudheva on Thursday took to Twitter, where he shared the poster of Mercury, which mentioned the release date of the film.  The poster reads: “‘Mercury’ rises worldwide from Friday the 13th, April 2018.

Happy to announce the release date of ‘Mercury’ directed by Karthik Subbaraj. I had a superb time acting in this silent thriller,” he captioned the image. Prabhudheva said Mercury is an unique experience for him and described it as a “unique film”. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the film stars Sananth, Deepak and Remya Nambeesan. Karthik is bankrolling the project under his home banner, Stone Bench Films. The film has music by Santhosh Narayanan. National award-winning Tirru has cranked the camera.

Prabhudheva was last seen in  Gulebaghavali which received mixed response from audiences. Competing with big-ticket films like Suriya’s Thaana Serndha Koottam and Vikram’s Sketch, one felt that it may not be the right period to release the film. Borrowing the title from the 1955 classic, Gulebaghavali is set to be a dark comedy featuring Prabhudeva and Hansika in never-seen-before roles. The director of the film, Kalyan S has said that this film will boast of some spectacular special effects. It is also said that the makers are taking a lot of effort to perfect the special effects and costumes of the film so that the audience enjoys watching quality cinema. Besides Prabhudheva and Hansika Motwani, Gulebaghavali aso stars Revathy, Yogi Babu, Anandraj, Mottai Rajendran and Muniskanth.

Prabhudheva also has a film titled Lakshmi which is being directed by AL Vijay. The shooting of the film was recently wrapped up and is gearing up for a summer release this year. The film is said to have social message and touches every emotion in a unique way, according to reports.
