During a recently held press meet, actor Prakash Raj spoke about actors entering politics and made some strong statements along the way. Thereafter, he took to Twitter and shared his statement with his followers in order to ensure that his words were not taken out of context. In his tweet, he said that actors must not enter politics to just cash in on their popularity. He went on to add that that voters should vote for them as responsible citizens and not mere fans.
“Look how they distort what u say..clarifying on and all. This is what I said on ACTORS. coming into politics IN today’s press meet. Actors should not come into politics only because they are popular. Its a disaster. They should come with the clear perception of the issues facing the country and win the trust of the people. And we should not vote as FANs. But as responsible citizens,” he added.
Well, these are some strong words and could ruffle a few feathers.
Interestingly, his remarks come at a time when Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth are on the verge of entering politics. According to a leading daily, ‘Thalaivaa’ is likely to launch his party on his birthday and add a new dimension to his career. As far as Haasan is concerned, he too has confirmed he will be launching a party in the days to come.
