R Madhavan, Puneeth Rajkumar and Tovino Thomas to play the lead roles in the sequel of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya

Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa will have a sequel, confirmed the filmmaker and the cast will include names from different film industries which will blow your mind away. Gautham Menon, in a recent video interview, confirmed that there will be a sequel made to Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa and actor R.Madhavan will replace Simbu in it. And Madhavan, too, in a Twitter conversation with a user had confirmed the same. Much to the excitement to the fans of Tamil cinema, there will be a lot of changes in the cast and Madhavan replacing Simbu clearly indicates that the story will be set after a lot of years from the original one. Another interesting aspect about the sequel of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is that Karthik – the central character – will have three friends from Trivandrum, Bangalore and Hyderabad who will be a part of his story in the film. And the filmmaker has revealed that Puneeth Rajkumar and Tovino Thomas will be playing the characters from Bangalore and Kerala respectively.

However, what remains unknown that the character from Hyderabad is yet to be confirmed by Gautham. A while ago, there were reports doing rounds that Gautham Menon may team up with actor Nani again and these news reports are now being linked to the sequel of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. Speculations are that the character from Hyderabad will be played by Nani.

A while ago, there were many reports doing rounds that Gautham Menon is in discussions with various actors from different languages for a multi-starrer which included stars like Puneeth Rajkumar, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia and Nani. And with the news getting confirmed that there will be a sequel to Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, all these dots are now getting connected. Gautham Menon is yet to confirm the title of the sequel, however, it is most likely to be titled Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa 2.
