Actress Raai Laxmi—who is quite a popular name in Southern cinema—is currenly gearing up for the release of her maiden Hindi film ‘Julie 2’. And, as expected, she is quite excited about the same. A Deepak Shivdasani directorial, the film has created quite a buzz amongst fans thanks to the star’s bold avatar and her steamy scenes. During a recent chat with DC, Raai Laxmi said that ‘Julie 2’ revolves around how a woman must confront men if she wants to be successful, She went on to add that the ‘glam scenes’ are a part of the narrative.
“Basically, it is a story of an actress and her life. It required certain kinds of glam scenes, which are justified in the film. I knew about it even before the film started. The film’s message is loud — if a girl has to achieve in life, she has to meet and confront a lot of men,” she added.
Interestingly, these days, actress Deepika Padukone’s latest film ‘Padmavati’ is in the midst of an ugly controversy. In fact, she has even received threats from a few fringe groups. Talking about the controversy, Raai Laxmi said that threatening an actress for doing a film is not acceptable.
“I don’t know what the film is all about and I cannot comment on it. But all said and done, harassing and life-threatening an actress (Deepika Padukone) is unfair because she is an actress who acts a role and is paid for her job,” added Raai Laxmi.
Well, these are some strong words and prove that Raai Laxmi is one outspoken person. We wish her the best for ‘Julie 2’ and hope that the film does well at the box office.
