The makers of 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar have geared up for the film’s release. The highly anticipated magnum opus is the talk of the town since its inception and moreover, due to being delayed a lot of times. Nevertheless, 2.0 directed by Shankar is finally all set to hit the screens on November 29, 2018. The film has completed censor formalities and has been cleared with U/A certificate.
The big budget film also starring Amy Jackson is 2 hours and 28 minutes long (148 minutes), and with this, reportedly, 2.0 becomes the shortest film of director Shankar’s career in terms of duration. Though the director has spent years and years on this project, 2.0 becomes the shortest film of his career. The second shortest film of Shankar is Enthiran, which is about 167 minutes long. With just 9 days left for the film’s release, we are eagerly waiting to know what’s in the store for the audience.
In the film, Rajinikanth plays a scientist and a robot. Speaking at the trailer launch, Shankar said the audience will see Rajinikanth in multiple avatars and it’ll be a treat to watch. “Audiences will see him as scientist Vaseegaran, robot Chitti and 2.0 version of Chitti. There will also be a giant version of Chitti in the climax. We also have another version but we’d like to keep that as a surprise,” he said.
2.0 is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster Enthiran (Robot) which also featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Lyca Productions produced 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead. The film marks Akshay Kumar’s Tamil debut. Amy Jackson is the female lead in this Shankar-directorial movie. 2.0 is all set to release on November 29.
