After the much waited for Kaala staring Rajinikanth hit the screens worldwide, fans and admirers of the superstar are terming it as a comeback for the actor. With the cinema halls running packed shows, Kaala is now termed as a blockbuster hit. Rajinikanth also has another pending film which is yet to hit the screens – Shankar’s 2.0. Sequel to the 2010 release Enthiran, 2.0 will have Rajinikanth reprising the dame roles – Scientist Vaseekaran and Robot Chitti – and also would have new additions. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar would be seen playing a pivotal role in the film while Amy Jackson would be seen playing the leading lady. The makers are yet to confirm the release date of the film however it is being speculated that 2.0 may hit the screens in August during Independence Day weekend.
However, latest reports reveal that 2.0 may not be released this year and may be pushed to early part of 2019. According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the release of the film may be pushed to 2019 due to heavy VFX works the film requires and the makers are unable to finish it by August this year and hence decided to push it. “With the amount of VFX work on 2.0 that is still pending there is no way the makers will be able to release the film this year. In fact, the producers are currently working out a perfect release date for the film that will now hit screens in 2019 and an announcement of the same will be done in the last quarter if the year,” Bollywood Hungama quoted a source close to the film.
