Actor Panjak Tripathi, who will next be seen in Rajinikanth-starrer Kaala, says the superstar would ensure that he ate on time and regularly checked up on him when they shot for the movie together. Pankaj plays a policeman in the project, which will also mark his debut in Tamil. “My experience of shooting with Rajini sir has been amazing. He is a very humble man who used to check on me and ensure I ate on time. We have had conversations about acting, about spirituality and the film industry. When he is in front of the camera, he takes on a different persona. I learnt a lot from this experience,” Pankaj said in a statement.
“I knew I needed to be part of a film where I share screen space with someone of his calibre. The minute the offer came, I said ‘yes’ and I am delighted that I did,” he added. Kaala has been written and directed by Pa. Ranjith, the director’s second film with Rajinikanth after Kabali, and also features Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi among others.
Being produced by Dhanush, Kaala is slated to be released on April 27th, 2018, the makers had confirmed. The music of Kaala is being rendered by Santosh Narayanan who had also composed the music for Kabali directed by Pa Ranjith again. The song Neruppu Da became a rage amongst music lovers across the globe and not just amongst Tamil movie buffs. Expectations on the album of Kaala is quite high since the first look posters of the film indicate that Rajinikanth would be seen playing a powerful don in the film. Kaala is said to be set in the slums of Mumbai’s Dhaaravi. Eswari Devi will be seen playing the role of Rajinikanth’s wife in Kaala while actor and filmmaker Samuthirakani will be seen playing an important role.
