Kamal Haasan’s elder brother Chandra Haasan passed away recently in London and a memorial meet was organised in remembrance of the legendary personality in Chennai. Eminent personalities of the film industry were present at the event and spoke about Chandra Haasan. Kamal Haasan became emotional while speaking about his brother and said,”He’d buy himself clothes only once in two-three years and he’d buy only three sets and wear them repeatedly.

Kamal also added his brother would usually co-ordinate and organise all the activities for any kind of family event, and this is the first time that he is organising without his involvement. He also spoke the kind of influence Chandra Haasan has been on him. “It was my family who taught me how to be a brother. And it is because I knew this that so many have come to support me today,” Kamal said.

Super Star Rajinikanth too attended the event and spoke few words about Chandra Haasan. “I’ve met him only a few times, but I’ve heard a lot about him,” said Rajinikanth. Rajini also expressed that he is worried about Kamal Haasan ‘s financial situation. “If you compare the money that Kamal has made from cinema to even what newcomers make, you’ll realise that he’s barely made anything. This is saddening. But he doesn’t care about it. I’m wondering how he will save what he has, how he will earn money from now on,” said a worried Rajinikanth. Rajinikanth also opined that Kamal Haasan is the angriest man he has never seen. Speaking about it, he said, “You’ve only seen 10% of his anger. I’ve seen 100%. That’s why I’m always careful with him,”. To this Kamal responded and said, “Rajini is also like my elder brother. I will ask him for ideas. I have many people who support me, enlightened people, those who are blessed in the arts…Rajini is among them.

Two big stars bonding in such a fashion is a rare sight and Indian cinema is blessed to have them.
