The cast and crew of Rajinikanth’s Kaala has just wrapped up a schedule in Mumbai and returned to Chennai to continue the second leg of the shoot. The film is being directed by Pa Ranjith who earlier directed Kabali with the Super Star in the lead. Based on a Mumbai don, Kaala has Bollywood actors Huma Qureshi and Nana Patekar in important roles. The film has now run into legal trouble after one Rajasekhar filed a petition against the makers of the film.

The petition filed by Rajasekhar says that the filmmaker had narrated the story of Kaala to Rajinikanth back in 1995, and Rajinikanth had promised to do the film in some time as well. The city civil court, which heard the case on June 05th, 2017, has ordered director Pa Ranjith to respond to the allegations of Rajasekhar.

Rajasekhar also claims that the film was later offered to Chiyaan Vikram in 2011, and the shooting of the film was about to begin before it stopped because of legal issues. Rajasekhar has also filed a complaint with the commissioner of police requesting them to take action against the makers of Kaala.

Kaala Karikaalan is being produced by Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush under the banner Wunderbar Films. Dhanush nor his production team have not responded to these allegations.

Kaala had earlier too faced similar hurdles when it was announced that a film is being made on a Mumbai based gangster. Rajinikanrth had received a threatening latter from Sekhar Sundar, foster son of Haji Mastan, after the latter got to now that the film will be based on Haji Mastaan’s life.
