Rajinikanth’s Kaala likely to be postponed for this reason

Rajinikanth’s eagerly-awaited Kaala is currently slated to hit screens on April 27, 2018. However, it is likely to get postponed because of the ongoing shutdown of the Tamil film industry. Commenting on the situation, a noted producer Durairaj said that the team of Kaala has made it clear that they will support the industry’s collective decision and release the film only when once the shutdown is called off.

“Those movie teams who have got the censor certificate first will be given the preference to release their films. Agreed that a lot of small films could have had a release in March. However, this shutdown is only for the betterment of the industry and when we open again, everyone is going to be benefitted without a doubt.

Even Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kaala team has told us that they will release their film whenever we tell them to. It is known that Kaala will do well no matter when it releases. We shall have to plan out releases right after this strike. The start could be hard to plan but once things get going, it is sure to be beneficial for all,” added Durairaj.

In case you did not know, Kaala is touted to be a crime-drama and has been directed by Pa Ranjith. In it, Rajini will be seen essaying the role of a don/gangster and redefining the meaning of intense. The film’s teaser was released on Holi and it became the talk of the town. The teaser suggests that Kaala will have political undertones and deal with the rise of the oppressed. Besides ‘Thalaiva’, the film also has Huma Qureshi in the lead. A while ago, she had told a leading that Rajinikanth is the ‘humblest superstar ever’.

So, are you looking forward to Kaala? Will it be Rajini’s best film ever? Tell us in the space below.
