Rajnikanth’s Kaala’s may not release in April.

The much-awaited Rajnikanth-Nana Patekar starrer Kaala’s release date may be pushed. The film is scheduled to release on April 27, 2018. The film’s teaser was released recently and fans have been waiting with bated breath for the film to release.

However, it seems that the film’s release may be pushed further. The tiff between the Tamil film producers and digital service providers over the Visual Print Fee- VPF (which includes the total cost of hiring, installing digital equipment, operational activities with delivery) has brought the Tollywood industry to a standstill.

Producer’s council are on a strike protesting against the amount of Visual Print Fee charged by the distributors. Earlier representatives of four south Indian film industries – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada had decided to shut down theatres. But, later other states withdrew the protest except for Tamil Nadu where they are still clashing in their opinion. If the protest persists for few more days, it will affect the release of Kaala which is all set to release in April.

Kaala is Thalaiva and director Pa Ranjith’s second collaboration after the 2016 gangster flick Kabali. Rajinikanth will be seen essaying the role of a slum lord who is the hero of the masses. Nana Patekar will be playing the antagonist in the film. The other casts include Huma Qureshi, Eshwari Rao, and Samuthirakani.

Kaala is produced by Tamil actor and Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush’s Wunderbar films. The film is set in the slums of Dharavi in Mumbai.

Rajnikanth is also awaiting the release of his other big budget movie 2.0 which also stars Akshay Kumar. He has also signed a film with Pizza director Karthik Subbaraj.

Taking a break from work before the release of his upcoming projects, Rajnikanth is off to the Himalayas for a week as part of his spiritual journey.
