It is no secret the 1992 release ‘Roja’ is regarded as one of the greatest films of Mani Ratnam’s illustrious career. Touted to be a romantic-thriller and based on a sensitive issue, it received rave reviews upon release and established Arvind Swamy as the new heartthrob of Tamil cinema.
Moreover, it played a big role in helping actress Madhoo gain recognition in the industry. Now, Madhoo is in the spotlight again. According to reports, she is all set to star in the eagerly-awaited TV serial ‘Aarambh’. She will, apparently, be playing the role of the heroine’s mother. Interestingly, the show has been written Vijayendra Prasad who is best-known for penning the ‘Baahubali’ saga. As such, one can expect, character to be on the lines of Sivagami from SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus. Now, doesn’t that sound exciting? If ‘Aarambh’ turns out to be just as gripping as ‘Baahubali 2’, it could prove to be a crucial project for Madhoo.
In case you did not know, of late, Madhoo has been playing supporting roles in Southern films. Some of her recent releases include the Kannada drama ‘Ranna’, ‘Surya Vs Surya’ and NTR Jr’s ‘Nannaku Prematho’.
