According to the latest reports, actress Sai Pallavi’s eagerly-awaited ‘Karu’—which is slated to hit screens on February 9—is likely to be postponed by a couple of weeks. It will now hit screens on February 23. An official announcement on this is likely to be made soon. In case you did not know, ‘Karu’ is touted to be a horror-drama and has been directed by AL Vijay. In it, Sai Pallavi will be playing the role of a young mother. Sometime ago, the director had revealed that the young lady has done a terrific job in ‘Karu’.
“Right from the beginning, I was very confident that Sai would be able to pull it off. I watched Premam as well as Kali. I loved her performance in both. She was very impressive in the latter. She has done a wonderful job in Karu,” he had told a leading daily.
The director had also said that ‘Karu’ deals w.ith the sensitive issue of abortion while highlighting the bond between a mother and her kid.
“It is an intense subject and focuses on the bond between a mother and her four-year-old daughter. Sai Pallavi essays the mother. The movie touches upon the issue of abortion and I can’t reveal anything more at this point of time,”he had added.
Interestingly, Sai Pallavi was last seen in ‘MCA’. Also featuring Nani in the lead, the film hit screens in December and did well at the box office, despite facing some tough competition from Akhil Akkineni-Kalyani starrer ‘Hello’.
At present, she also has ‘Maari 2’ in her kitty. It is a sequel to the 2015 release ‘Maari’ and features Dhanush in the titular role.
