Samantha Akkineni has geared up for her much-talked about film U Turn. The film is a mystery thriller starring Samantha Akkineni and Adhi in lead roles. The film is quite in the buzz and is expected to do good at the Box Office. U turn is quite a talk of the town for a few reasons and one of the reasons is it is clashing with Naga Chaitanya’s Shailaja Reddy Alludu at the Box Office on September 13. As we all know, it’s no more a man’s world. In today’s time, we don’t have only male superstars but also powerful female actresses.
In an interview with Metro Plus, Samantha Akkineni was asked what does she think about most of the films are women-oriented and how the actresses are doing a fab job. The actress was given examples of actresses like Nayanthara and Jyothika. To which she replied, “I think this is a great time for women in cinema. It’s encouraging that filmmakers are writing better roles and scripts keeping women in mind. It’s great that these actresses are paving the way for others to take up such roles.”
Samantha is also doing another film with Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil for their next Super Deluxe. Talking about the same, she said, “It’s an original film and I’m looking forward to it. Again, the trends are changing in Tamil and Telugu; people want to see something new and this is something that’s going to be shockingly new. It’s not very often that you get to work with a director like Thiagarajan, so I’m excited about that.”
Coming back to her upcoming film U turn, the film is an official remake of the popular Kannada film, also features Aadhi Pinisetti, Rahul Ravindran, Bhumika Chawla and Narain in the main lead. Actress Samantha Akkineni is playing the lead role and will be seen as an investigative journalist in the movie who is determined to solve a suspicious case.
