During the recently-held audio launch of ‘VIP 2’, composer Sean Roldan opened up about working on the soundtrack of the Dhanush starrer and said that replacing Anirudh Ravichander was a difficult task.
“It has not been easy filling the shoes of my good friend Anirudh, who did amazing music in the first part, I thank him for being the music director in the first part because the second part was really challenging to crack,” he added.
In case you did not know, ‘VIP 2’ has been directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth and is a sequel to the 2014 release ‘VIP’. In it, Dhanush will be seen reprising his much-loved Raghuvaran character from the first part. Besides him, the film also features Bollywood actress Kajol and Amala Paul in the lead. The film’s trailer has already created a buzz amongst fans because of Kajol-Dhanush’s crackling chemistry.
Interestingly, ‘VIP 2’ marks Kajol’s comeback to Tamil films after a gap of nearly two decades. Her last Tamil film ‘Minasara Kanavu’ had hit screens in `1997. Also featuring Prabhudheva and Arvind Swami in lead, it created a buzz amongst fans because of AR Rahman’s lifting tunes.
On a related note, this will be Dhanush’s first release of the year. He was last seen in the 2016 release ‘Kodi’. A political-thriller, it also featured Trisha in the lead. Directed by RS Durai Senthil Kumar, it received rave reviews upon release.
So, do you feel that Roldan will be able to impress audiences with his work in ‘VIP 2’? Comments, please!
