Kamal Haasan’s much-loved show ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’ came to an end yesterday amidst much fanfare. And, during the finale, director Shankar, as well as Dil Raju, appeared on the show much to the delight of those in attendance. While interacting with the audience, Shankar opened up about ‘Indian 2’ and revealed why he has decided to work with Haasan again. He said that he has been toying with the idea of making a sequel to the 1996 release ‘Indian’ and will be beginning work on it soon.
“After every movie, I used to think about my next project and always thought about sequels. Three years before this line struck for me but got busy with the other projects. The theme got ready now and we are soon doing Indian 2. Even during the start of 2.O, I strongly felt my next film be Indian 2,” added Shankar.
Well, we are pretty happy that ‘Indian 2’ is happening and hope that it proves to be a winner at the box office. In case you did know, ‘Indian’ was a crime-thriller and featured Haasan in a double role. India’s official entry to the Academy Awards, it also had Manisha Koirala and Urmilla Matondkar in the lead. As far as the sequel is concerned, it will be produced by Dil Raju as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.
On a related note, this is a busy time for Haasan and Shankar. While Shankar is gearing up for the release of ‘2.0’, Haasan is all set to enter politics soon.
