Shivani Rajasekhar, daughter of Tollywood actor Dr. Rajasekhar, will soon be making her debut in films with the Telugu remake of Bollywood hit film ‘2 States’ and will be directed by debutante Venkat. The film will also star Adivi Sesh in the lead role and will soon go on floors aiming to be released before the end of this year. And according to latest reports, Shivani will also make her debut in Tamil cinema soon. Latest reports reveal that Shivani has been finalised as the female lead in a film starring Vishnu Vishal and will mark her debut in Kollywood. Vishnu himself will be producing the film which is touted to be a romantic story. The film is yet to be titled and will be directed by another debutante, Venkatesh. If this materialises, this will be on of the biggest debuts in South Indian cinema since it would be in two industries.
Shivani has been assisting her mother, Jeevitha Rajasekhar in their production works lately and is well aware of the filmmaking process. It is also a known fact that Shivani was being groomed for acting and news had it that she may soon make her debut in Telugu cinema. Speaking about it, Shivani had recently said,”Details of the project will be announced soon. But I’ve prepared for this my whole life. I’ve learned Bharathanatiyam and Kuchipudi, as well as music instruments such as keyboard, guitar and veena.”
Shivani’s father, Rajasekhar, has acted in more than 75 films in Tamil and Telugu but his major hits have been in Telugu. Films like ‘Allari Priyudu’, ‘Ankusham’, ‘Talambralu’, ‘Shrutilayalu’, ‘Aahuti’, ‘Magaadu’, ‘Anna’ and ‘Omkaram‘ among others. He is known for his intense acting and was a top actor in the 1990s.
Shivani’s mother, Jeevitha Rajasekhar, has also acted and directed in many films in Tamil and Telugu. A lesser known fact is that Rajasekhar and Jeevitha run a school in Hyderabad which imparts non-commercialized education to students. The school is affiliated to the actors’ trust, Dr. Rajasekhar Charitable Trust.
