During a recent chat with a leading daily, actress Shruti Haasan opened up about her professional goals and said that she wants to essay characters that represent the modern day Indian woman. She went on to add that she’ll be playing such a character in  ‘Sabaash Naidu’

“I think Indian women are such an interesting mix of modernity and values. I am waiting to play such roles as I haven’t seen them much. I play a fun-loving and rebellious character. Why we aren’t talking much about the plot or the story is for a reason -for people to come and watch it in theatres,” she added.

Moreover, the lovely lady opened up about her personal life and revealed that she is quite a straightforward person and does not hesitate to call a spade a spade. She added that, because of her bold attitude, many people consider her to be a difficult person.

“I am sure you will agree with me as women -if you are straightforward, you are considered difficult. If I was difficult, I would not have been able to do so many films in different languages,” she added.

Well, we say that these are some strong words and may create quite a buzz amongst fans.

On a related note, the above mentioned ‘Sabaash Naidu’ is touted to be a spy-comedy and is being directed by Kamal Haasan. Interestingly, the 62-year-old star is also playing the titular character in this one. The film is being made simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
