This comes a shocker to the film circles in Tamil since there was so much hype around Sangamithra at The Cannes. The makers had unveiled the first look posters of Shruti Haasan from the film which created a lot of excitement around the film.
The producers did not mention the reason as to why she wouldn’t be a part of the film. The rest of the cast including director Sundar C and Shruti Haasan haven’t yet responded to this news.
According to earlier reports, Shruti Haasan was the first choice for the role in Sangamithtra. Shruti Haasan even went to the extent of learning the sword fight Silambam. The actress was being widely praised for her efforts to get into the skin of her character.
