The period film Sangamithra, which was unveiled at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, hit the news after the makers announced that the Shruti Haasan will no longer be a part of Sangamithra. The producers, Sri Thenandal Films, posted a message on their social networking page and made the news official. Responding to this, Shruti Haasan’s spokesperson issued a statement which said that the actress had not received a proper bound script despite she putting in a lot of hard work to be prepared for the character.
The statement read – “Shruti has had to unfortunately take a call not to be part of Sangamithra. Knowing it was a massive undertaking and long commitment spanning over 2 years, she knew the importance of her training, a comprehensive script and proper date calendar. She hired and started training with one of the best combat trainers April onwards to make sure she was ready in time for shoot. Despite her enthusiasm and commitment to Sangamithra, she has had to give the film a miss since she had not received a proper bound script nor a proper date calendar. She is currently caught up with promoting her film Behen Hogi teri, prep for Sabash Naidu and her musical associations.”
The producers haven’t yet responded to these comments by Shruti Haasan regarding the script and dates.
Well, after so much hype around the film at the Cannes Film Festival and being considered as a competition to Baahubali, this definitely is not a great news for the Tamil movie lovers.
