All the way back in 2000, director SJ Suryah had directed a young Vijay in ‘Khushi’ and helped him add a hit to his name. Now, nearly 17 years later, he has collaborated with ‘Thalapathy’ again for the eagerly-awaited ‘Mersal’. However, a lot has changed over the years. Vijay is now one of Kollywood’s biggest stars while Suryah is making inroads as an actor. During a recent chat with a leading website, the actor-filmmaker opened up about working with Vijay again and said that he has not changed as a person despite finding immense success as a performer.
“He has become all the more focused as an actor and humble as a person. The film will be a testimony to his star power and I’m confident that the Telugu version too will be received very well by the audiences. You’ll see a brand new Vijay in the film,” said Suryah.
He went on to add that that Atlee is a terrific director and has a clear picture of how a particular scene should play out.
“Atlee is a wonderful actor too and he is very particular about what he wants from his actors. So, he would enact every scene during the narration. That helped me a lot. I adapted a lot of his body language to play my role,” he added.
Well, we wish Suryah good luck and hope that his villasinous act in ‘Mersal’ makes one hell of an impact. If all also as planned, the film—which also has Kajal Aggarwal and Nithya Menen in the lead—will arrive in theatres this Diwali.
