The much-loved and dashing Vikram returned to the big screen after a hiatus of nearly one year when ‘Sketch’ hit screens this Pongal, amidst much fanfare. Touted to be an action-thriller, it has fared reasonably well at the box office and proved to be a success. During its success meet—which was held yesterday– Vikram said that he decided to take up ‘Sketch’ as its story was different and gave him goosebumps.
“We had been on the lookout for a proper commercial script with a different treatment for a long time. Cinematographer Sukumar was the one who suggested me to listen to Vijay Chandar’s story. But I never had the time to listen to his script since I was shooting continuously. Finally, when I heard the story, I had goosebumps. It was very different,” he added.
Praising the director, Vikram said that he is a humble person who respects others a lot. He also added that the director knows the pulse of the audience quite well.
“I also love Vijay Chandar’s humility. He is someone who always cares for others. He has already watched Sketch 40 times and is enjoying the response of audiences. He thoroughly knows the pulse of the viewers. I correctly understand what a first-hit feels like,” said Vikram.
Interestingly, most reviews have mentioned that Thaman’s music was one of the biggest highlights of ‘Sketch’. Praising the music director’s work, the ‘I’ star said that Thaman and Vijay Chandar make a good pair and compliment each other well.
“Thaman and Vijay Chandar make a lovely composer-director combo. Thaman’s extraordinary work in the film has been singled out by reviews unanimously,” added Vikram.
Well, we are happy for Vikram and congratulate the whole ‘Sketch’ team for tasting success.
