Soundarya Rajinikanth’s first film ‘Kochadaiiyaan, which had hit screens in 2014—could not live up to expectations despite creating plenty of pre-release buzz amongst fans. Now, three years down the line, she is gearing up for release of her second film ‘VIP 2’. And, as expected, she is excited about the same. During a recent interaction with a leading daily, Soundarya opened up about possibly making a sequel to ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ and said that it could happen somewhere down the line.

“Recreating a world, either going back in time or forward, is something I love to do as a director. We ended Kochadiiyaan with Rana versus Sena. Let’s see. There’s an idea, and if God wants it so, at the right time, it will develop into a script,” she added.

Well, this is pretty much a wait and watch situation. We hope that ‘Kochadaiiyaan 2’ does indeed happen.

In case you did not know, ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ was a period-drama that was shot using motion-capture technology.  Shot in Tamil, it featured Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone in the lead. Upon release, ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ received mixed reviews and proved to be a letdown.

On a related note, ‘VIP 2’ is touted to be an action-comedy and is a sequel to the 2014 release ‘VIP’. It features Dhanush, Kajol and Amala Paul in the lead. The film was originally supposed to hit screens this week but got delayed and will now hit screens in August.

So, do you want to see a sequel to ‘Kochadaiiyaan’? Tell us in the space below.
