Actress Vedhika Kumar is all set for her Bollywood debut with Jeethu Joseph’s first Hindi film. The film will star Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi and veteran star Rishi Kapoor. Earlier, it was reported that actress Sobhita Dhulipala has been roped in for the role in director’s Hindi debut film.
Titled, ‘The Body’, the film is a crime thriller remake of the 2012 Spanish film and the film had received highly positive reviews. Reportedly, Vedhika was chosen for the role after she went several rounds of audition. Well, Vedhika is quite excited and is happy that a right project has come her way.
“I’m so glad I waited for the right project to come my way. I’m excited and thankful,” Vedhika tells Mumbai Mirror.
Vedhika has appeared in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films and got her big break as Angamma in the acclaimed period film Paradesi in 2013. Director Jeetu Joseph also made the revelation on Vedhika’s character in the film. He is very much confident about Vedhika’s pairing with Emraan Hashmi and thinks it would be a fresh pairing to watch out for.
Talking to Mumbai Mirror, director Jeetu Joseph said, “The character is of a young college-going girl with some innocence about her. She fits the role beautifully. Her pairing with Emraan will be fresh and one to watch out for.”
The shooting of the film commenced this month in May and the team is all set to head to Mauritius for the next schedule. The film will be produced by Sunir Kheterpal of Azure Entertainment and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.
