Actor Silambarasan aka STR was given police protection at his residence after the actor crooned a song on demonetisation which describes the challenges faced by common man when during the demonetisation period. The song is composed by Balamurali Balu while the lyrics are penned by Madhan Karky. The song is set to be used in the film ‘Thattrom Thookrom’ and it is said to be the highlight of the film. The police protection was given to STR after the actor anticipated protests against the song by political groups. SO far, there haven’t been any protests or any kind of ager displayed near the residence of the actor but the police forces anticipate such things to happen this week.

Simbhu was also mired with similar controversy last year when he sung the ‘Beep Song’ which was composed by young Tamil sensation Anirudh Ravichander. The song had lyrics which were interpreted to be against girls and there were few protests against it. And the latest demonetisation anthem also takes a dig at the no cash period which happened during the same time of the year.

On the work front, STR had a release this year ‘Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan’ which had him play triple roles one of them being an old man’s role – Ashwin thatha. ‘Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan’ was directed by Adhvik Ravichandran and also starred Tamannaah and Shriya Saran in female lead roles. The music of the film was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. STR currently has ‘Kettavan Kettidil Kittidum Rajayogam’ which is currently being shot across various locations in Chennai.
