Tamannaah to feature in the Hindi remake of ‘Jigarthanda’ alongside Farhan Akthar and Sanjay Dutt

The original was directed by Karthik Subbaraj and the Hindi remake of the film will be directed by Nishikanth Kamat.

Tamannaah Bhatia is a busy bee these days and has quite a few films that she is shooting for. Tamannaah is currently shooting for the Telugu remake of Bollywood hit ‘Queen’, which is titled ‘Queen Again’. Tamannaah also has a film opposite Sundeep Kishan which will be directed by Bollywood filmmaker Kunal Kohli marking his debut in Tollywood. The film is said to be a romantic drama and the makers have already shot few scenes in London with the lead actors. And according to latest reports, Tamannaah has bee signed on to play the lead role in the Hindi remake of Tamil hit film ‘Jigarthanda’ which had Siddharth and Bobby Simha in important roles.

The original was directed by Karthik Subbaraj and the Hindi remake of the film will be directed by Nishikanth Kamat. Tamannaah will be seen playing the role which was played by Lakshmi Menon in the original. This will be yet another remake for Tamannaah Bhatia after having worked in two so far – Queen and Tadakha which is the Telugu remake of Tammil hit ‘Vettai’.

The Hindi remake is yet to be titled by and will be produced by Ajay Devgn jointly with Abhinav Shukla. Farhan Akthar will be seen playing the role played by Siddharth in the original of that of a filmmaker. Sanjay Dutt will essay the don role portrayed by Booby Simha in the original, according to latest reports. ‘Jigarthanda’ is considered as one of the cult classics in Tamil cinema and was well lauded by audiences and critics post release.
