Arya, popular for films like Boss Engira Bhaskaran, Raja Rani and Settai, is all set to make his debut in Kannada cinema with a film titled Rajaratha. Arya’s debut film will be directed by popular director Anup Bhandaru who earlier delivered a hit film Rangitaranga. Rajaratha will star Nirup and Avantika Shetty in the lead roles.

Speaking to a leading news agency, director Anup Bhandari said, “He plays a crucial role and we are glad he accepted our offer. He joined the sets last weekend and it has been a pleasure working with him. I can’t talk too much about his role at the moment because then I would be giving away the plot.”

Anup further adds that it only took 5 minutes of narration to convince Arya for the role. “He really liked my previous film ‘Rangitaranga’. Naturally, he was quite excited when we approached him. I narrated the story for about five minutes. He stopped me and asked from when I want his dates,” Anup further added.

Rajaratha will be a bilingual film and will be shot in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously. Arya also has the period drama Sangamithra in his kitty which will be directed by Sundar C. Sangamithra would have gone on floors by now but got delayed after actress Shruti Haasan opted out of the film stating she never received a bound script for the film. The makers are on the lookout for an actress in Sangamithra and more updates are expected soon.
