That Arjun Reddy is being remade in Tamil with Dhruv, son of Chiyaan Vikram, in the lead role is now a known thing to us. The film is yet to be titled and will be directed by popular filmmaker Bala, a decision which surprised quite a few people given the kind of films he has made so far. A romantic drama, Arjun Reddy is one of the biggest hits this year in Tollywood and commercially a successful one too. The makers haven’t yet finalised the actress for the film, however, buzz in the film industry is that Shriya Sharma may be roped in to play the leading actress in the remake.
Shriya Sharma is the child actress who played Suriya and Jyothika’s daughter in Sillunu Oru Kadhal and he lead actress role in Telugu film Nirmala Convent, which was debut movie of Roshan, son of actor Srikanth. Shriya Sharma is being considered for the leading role in the remake by the makers since they need a new face and a young actress for that role. The character is that of a college going girl in her teens and hence Shriya Sharma seems to be the front runner for the role, reports suggest.
The remake of Arjun Reddy will be produced by E4 Entertainment which has produced many Malayalam films like Ezra and Godha. Producer Mukesh Mehta posted a message on his Facebook page which read – “We are extremely happy to share that Dhruva Vikram will be essaying the lead in the Tamil version of Arjun Reddy. We are honoured by the opportunity and confidence shown in us by Vikram and we will work towards making it a memorable launch.”
