Thanks to director C. S. Amudhan, Tamil cinema was introduced to the first spoof comedy in the year 2010 with his directorial film Tamizh Padam. Starring RJ-turned-actor Shiva in the lead, the film took a dig at the stereotypes and cliches in Tamil films and presented them in a humorous way. One can remember the film for its hilarious title song and funny one-liners. Now, after seven years, the director is all set with Tamizh Padam 2.0, which will start rolling from this month. The film is said to wrap up by early 2018. Produced by Sashikanth of Y-NOT Studios, the crew of the film will also leave to a foreign destination to complete the last schedule of the film. Tamizh Padam 2.0 gets its name from using (Enthiran) 2.0 as a reference. Amudhan requested the media to not compare the duo’s (Amudhan and Shiva) work with Martin Scorcese-Robert de Niro collaborations as it would not be fair. It was reported that Amudhan started having the idea of making a sequel ever since last year. The film also stars Ishwarya Menon in the lead. The rest of the cast and crew hasn’t been announced yet.
