Rajinikanth is undeniably one of biggest names in Indian cinema today. Best known for his grand on screen mannerisms, the veteran enjoys a pan-India fan following and is regarded as a demi-god by movie buffs. Perhaps that is why filmmakers refrain from releasing their movies alongside Thalaivaa starrers.
However, this January his ‘2.0’ will hit screens alongside noted director Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Aiyaary’. And, as expected the ‘A Wednesday’ helmer is a bit worried about the clash. During a recent interaction with a news agency, he said that ‘2.0’ will definitely impact the collections of his film. However, at the same time, he stressed that the two films belong to different genres.
No one wants to harm the business of any film and I know that ‘2.0’ will impact ‘Aiyaary’. Right now, we are in the process of (working on) ‘Aiyaary’, so let’s see. Ours is a small film that belongs to a totally different genre, which is the reason why I don’t see any problem.” he added.
Well, we hope that both films work well at the box office and nobody suffers.
In case you did not know, ‘2.0’ is touted to be a sci-fi thriller and has been directed by S Shankar. A sequel to ‘Enthiran’, it also features Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in the lead. As far as ‘Aiyaary’ is concerned, it is a crime-drama and features Sidharth Malhotra-Rakul Preet. The film’s supporting cast includes names like Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah.
So, do you feel both films will work at the box office? Comments, please!
