Trisha Krishnan currently has quite a few interesting films lined up for release this year and looks like the list will only get better. Trisha will be seen playing a detective in one of her upcoming films titled ‘Kutrappayirchi’ which will be directed by newcomer Verniq. The young director is said to be an erstwhile assistant to acclaimed filmmaker Bala. It will be for the first time that a lead actress would be seen playing a detective in Tamil cinema and director Verniq says that character is inspired from Rajani Pandit who is one of India’s first woman detective. The story of ‘Kutrappayirchi’ will be based on true events and will be set in the 1980s. Trisha’s efforts to do unique content continues and the titled ‘Kutrappayirchi’ has surely raised the excitement on her upcoming flick.

Besides ‘Kutrappayirchi’, Trisha also has Mohini which is said to be a thriller and will have the actress in an intense role. Directed by R.Madhesh, ‘Mohini’ will have Trisha playing a role who would be possessed, a role which she has seldom tried. Interestingly, ‘Mohini’ will mark the debut of Bollywood actor Jackky Bhagnani in Tamil cinema and will be his first ever attempt at doing a South Indian movie. Jackky is seen romancing Trisha in the film and somewhere the trailer leaves an impression that Jackky might have a role in the flashback episodes, which horror genre usually end up having.
Trisha will also be making her debut in Malayalam cinema with Nivin Pauly starrer ‘Hey Jude’. The film is slated to be released on February 2nd, 2018 and the promotional content of the film has kept the audiences excited about the film. ‘Hey Jude’ is directed by Shyamaprasad who had written and directed films like ‘Artist’, ‘Kerala Café’ and ‘Ritu’. Besides Nivin Pauly and Trisha, ‘Hey Jude’ also stars Siddique, Neena Kurup, Vijay Menon and Aju Varghese in important roles in the film. ‘Hey Jude’ will have music by four different music composers – Rahul Raj, Ouseppachan, M. Jayachandran and Gopi Sunder.
