Udhayanidhi Stalin chooses his scripts wisely and makes sure that they are offbeat. Having produced numerous movies, Udhay seems to have the knack of judging the right scripts which suit his mannerisms. According to recent reports, Udhay will now feature in a film that will be directed by Malayalam top director Priyadarshan. This film will be a remake of Fahadh Faasil’s super hit Malayalam film Maheshinte Prathikaaram.
Speaking to a leading daily about his collaboration with Udhayanidhi, director Priyadarshan said,” Yes, I have brought Udhayanidhi to play the protagonist for my next flick, which is yet to be titled. It is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster Maheshinte Prathikaaram (Mahesh’s Revenge), which had Fahadh Faasil in the lead. Udhay will be reprising Fahadh’s role.”
Speaking more about why Udhay was chosen for the role, Priyan said,” The film is a comedy drama and Udhay was my first choice for the central character. I am very confident that he would pull it off. I’m yet to complete the scriptwork.”
Known for giving attention to every minute detail in his films, Priyadarshan is in talks with many actors in Kollywood. “I have only signed Udhay and comedian MS Bhaskar, who will be seen in a crucial role. In the coming weeks, we would be confirming the other cast and crew,” said Priyadarshan.
While the original movie in Malayalam was based on a famous real-life personality Thampan Purushan in Thuravoor, the Tamil version be set in Tenkasi, Madurai and Theni.
