After superstar Mahesh Babu played the role of Chief Minister in Bharat Ane Nenu, it is now turn of young actor Vijay Deverakonda to play the political role in his upcoming film NOTA, reports reveal. According to emerging reports, Vijay Deverakonda will be seen playing a Chief Minister in the political drama NOTA which is being directed by Anand Shankar. The makers are trying to keep the plot of the film under wraps but buzz in Tamil film circles is buzz that the Arjun Reddy actor will be seen playing a Chief Minister, which seems high probable given the theme of the film. NOTA will be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and also stars Mehreen Pirzada as the leading lady. The film is being produced by KR Gnanavelraja under the banner Studio Green.
Speaking about how NOTA happened, Vijay Deverakonda had said at the launch of the film, “Gnan kept telling me that there is a good script by Anand Shankar and listen to it once. I thought let me just listen to it even though I didn’t have any intention of doing it, and I met Anand. And when I met him for the first time, I was shooting continuously and was dead tired, and hence could not focus on his narration. And I asked Anand if he could meet later again for the narration. And this time I was all prepared for it. After the end of the narration, I loved it so much that I called Gnan and told him we are doing it.“
The shooting of NOTA is majorly complete and will soon move to post-production stage. The makers are contemplating to release the film in September this year, however, this is yet to be confirmed by them. NOTA will mark Vijay’s debut in Tamil films although he appeared in Nadigaiyar Thilagam, which was the dubbed version of Telugu film Mahanati. NOTA, besides Vijay and Mehreen, will also feature Sathyaraj in an important role.
