Tamil film industry has witnessed few marvellous movies in the second half of 2017 which went on to generate whopping numbers in collections too. ‘Mersal’ and ‘Vivegam’ topped the list in terms of collections while films like Aramm and Aruvi gained some positive reviews from audiences and critics all the way long. But one film which made a long-lasting impact was Pushkar-Gayathri’s ‘Vikram Vedha’ which was a cop thriller. Starring R.Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, this cop-drama had a great run at the box office besides running continuously for 50 days, which is a rare feat for any Indian film in the recent past. And to make it more special for the makers, ‘Vikram Vedha’ has achieved another distinct feat which the magnum opus ‘Baahubali-2’ too could not achieve. IMDB revealed the list of Top Films of 2017 in which ‘Vikram Vedha’ raced past ‘Baahubali 2’ and many other Bollywood hit films like ‘Superstar’ and ‘Toliet Ek Prem Katha’. ‘Vikram Vedha’ secured the top position in the list of films in 2017 which was voted by the users and audiences. This sure will be another special feat for the makers of ‘Vikram Vedha’.

The third film in the list was Vijay Deverakonda starrer ‘Arjun Reddy’ which was one of the sensational hits in Telugu cinema. A dark romantic flick, ‘Arjun Reddy’ received huge appreciation from audiences and critics during its stint in theatres and has become a rage amongst young audiences, not just among Telugu speaking crowd, but across the nation. ‘Arjun Reddy’ is also one of the biggest grossers of the season in terms of collections and earned an approximate INR 56.80 crores at the box office.

All the 3 were fantastic, they deserve the appreciation they got and more

Kudos to the southern film industry with the distinction of not only churning out mega hits but also strong content oriented films. Bollywood may think of itself that as the only film industry representative of India and the so-called bollywood people as talented. But the reality is different and high time the idiotic bollywood industry wake up from its snooze. Even someone like kjo has to remake a Marati hit that has resonated well with a wide audience.
