Actor Vishal, who just had a release Thupparivaalan, has brought in ideas to curb down piracy in theatres across Chennai which has been a menace for the Tamil film industry. According to reports, Vishal, who is also the President of Tamil Film Producers’ Council, has formed a team who will now monitor major theatres in Chennai which have been under the radar for the past few months for piracy. This movie by the actor-producer has surprised few in the industry and left them wondering how this step will help in bringing down the piracy.
A couple of days ago, a person named Gauri Shankar was arrested by the Chennai police who is said to be the admin of a popular piracy website named ‘Tamil Gun’. The arrest of Gauri Shankar comes after Vishal and his team at the Producers’ Council have been aggressively working against the piracy and trying to get to the roof of the piracy tree.
Vishal, who visited the Triplicane police station after the arrest of Gauri Shankar, spoke to the media personnel present the police station. “One person associated with website piracy has been taken into custody by the police. It is a significant breakthrough, and the police are investigating now,” Vishal was quoted in a report in TOI.
