Actor Vishal is bound to be one happy man these days. ‘Detective’—the Telugu dubbed version of his highly successful ‘Thupparivaalan’—has proved to be a commercial success and received rave reviews along the way. During a recent chat with a leading daily, the star revealed that he said ‘yes’ to the film because it belongs to a different genre and has a touch of freshness to it.
“Director Mysskin told me that he wanted to do a Sherlock Holmes kind of film. I had only heard of this genre, but this is the first attempt. I thought I would miss a good opportunity if I didn’t do this film and immediately said ‘yes’. It was a completely new experience for me because there are no songs and I have a new look,” he added.
Interestingly, ‘Detective’ has been produced by Vishal himself. Talking about why he decided to produce the film, he said that he did not want any interference in the decision-making process. He also said that soon films won’t have any songs as the new generation of filmmakers prefers making films that are story-driven.
“The younger generation of filmmakers want only story-driven films and will slowly reduce the use of songs in films. The success of Detective shows that you can try something different, added Vishal.
Well, we are happy for Vishal and hope that his other films too do well at the box office. In case you did not know, ‘Detective’ is an investigate-thriller and also features Andrea Jeremiah in the lead.
