Vivek Oberoi becomes the highest paid Hindi actor down South

Over the years, Bollywood star Vivek Anand Oberoi has delivered one fine performance after another, dabbling in a variety of genres. After carving a niche for himself, with some of the biggest Hindi blockbusters under his belt, the star is now making a huge impact in the South Film Industry.

Vivek recently made his Tamil debut with Vivegam alongside superstar Ajit Kumar and the film went on to break records at the box office. While his performance was well appreciated, the blockbuster success of the film also went on to cement his position as one of the most bankable and sought after Hindi stars down South.

Such was the reception, that some of the most prominent filmmakers and production houses, approached the star to be part of various films including the Malayalam film Lucifer opposite south superstar Mohanlal (that marks the directorial debut of actor Prithviraj), a Telugu film opposite Ram Charan Teja and Kannada movie Rustum, directed by Ravi Varma.

Says a trade expert, “Vivek had as much screen time as Ajit Kumar in Vivegam and held his own despite being entirely new to the industry. He became a subject of heated discussion ever since the film went on to become a mega blockbuster and was immediately flooded with offers. He is now part of the most prominent projects, alongside the biggest superstars in the Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu film industry and is also rumored to be the highest paid Hindi actor down South”.

Talking about his Malayalam debut film, Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has been roped in to play the antagonist in the Mohanlal starrer ‘Lucifer’. Antony Perumbavoor recently announced Vivek Oberoi’s casting on social media. The two actors previously worked together in the Bollywood film Company, directed by Ram Gopal Varma. The film will see actor Prithviraj Sukumaran making his debut as a director

Salman may or may not have blocked his career. But he paid the price of speaking the truth. If salman kept harassing him over phone, why he should not speak about it. He was also instigated by Aishwarya who did not have the guts to do that herself. I guess he broke some secret code of bollywood by speaking up and hence they black listed him. Salman may not have done it personally.

I’m glad Vivek’s doing well now. He has been able to overcome the trouble he had after taking Aish’s one-sided story and running with it.

This looks like a PR piece. His big mouth just wont stop talking.

How the hell did Salman destroy anyone’s career. Vivek had the biggest banners when that incident happened- and Salman was on a downward spiral in his career- no big banners, no good scripts, no top heroines . He was a complete goner. Salman then struggled a bit – even though he had hits they weren’t significant. Then the tables turned and Salman rose like a Phoenix from wanted and Dabang. And then there was no looking back. It’s noy easy to gain a fan following like Salman in today’s age. He truly waited for his work to do the talking instead of calling silly press conferences.

I like him as an actor and hear he has done good things as a person. I wish him the best.

Nope that is not true. Vivek may have opened his mouth but Salman did not have to use his “then” clout to ensure Vivek was not offered anything. Everyone was practically scared of Salman. Well, Salman should taste his own medicine now!

Vivek paid with his Bollywood career for speaking up against the bully salman. I am glad someone stood up to that idiot. Fine he had the industry in his hand and therefore destroyed his career in Bollywood but he can’t control the regional industries. Thank God for that. Those he say Vivek is a big mouth, well I agree he said some stupid things as well, but I also commend that he stood up to that bully. And everyone should learn from it and speak up, only then this mad behavior by the bigwigs would stop.

Salman didn’t wipe out Vivek’s career, Vivek’s big mouth wiped out his career with the press conference, he then found out who his real friends are. Ranbir could have been in the exact same position, but he is a Kapoor and he has Karan Johar’s backing, there is a difference.

Salman is a big bully and tried to wipe his career. Every dog has his day and I wish well for Vivek and urge Vivek to remain grounded, humble and focus on his work.
