Yuvan Shankar Raja

It’s been a wish for a long time now for the fans of Maestri Illayraja that he teams up with his son Yuvan Shankar Raja. There was buzz around that there were differences between them because of Yuvan’s change of religion and marrying someone who Illayaraja wasn’t in favour of. Over a period of time all these vanished as the father-son duo kept making public appearances and seen bonding well.

Recent reports bring in some good news for fans of both the music composers’ fans. Reports say that Illayaraja will compose songs and background score for a movie which will be produced by Yuvan Shankar Raja.” Yuvan himself will be bankrolling the film under his banner YSR Studios. Seenu Ramasamy always wanted to work with Illayaraja, so when he suggested this idea to Yuvan, he readily agreed and asked his dad, who is also excited about this fresh combination”, the source was quoted in one of the portals. The maestro Illayaraj had collaborated in composing songs with composer MS Viswanathan for Vishwa Thulasi and Mella Thiranthathu Kathavu.

If this happens, this will be Yuvan Shankar Rajas’ second venture as producer. Yuvan’s first movie is Kolayuthir Kaalam which has Nayanthara playing the lead role. The film is being directed by Chakri Toleti who earlier directed the remake of Bollywood film A Wedneday in Tamil titled Unnaipol Oruvan in Tamil and Eenadu in Telugu with Kamal Haasan. The film is being jointly produced by Vashu Bhagnani with Yuvan. The music is rendered by Yuvan Shankar Raja himself.
