There can be no denying that the gorgeous Shruti Haasan is one of the most talented and popular stars in the Southern film industry. During her reasonably eventful career, the diva has won the love of moviegoers courtesy her vivacious personality, A grade style game, sincere performances and of course mast nature. Furthermore, over the years, she has worked with some of the industry’s biggest names—right from Dhanush to Vijay—and proved that she belongs to the big league.
Today, as Shruti turns a year older, let us take a quick look at her life and celebrate what has truly been a good career. Shruti was born on January 28, 1986, to Kamal Haasan and Sarika. After receiving her schooling in Chennai, she moved to Mumbai to pursue a course in Psychology. In 2009, she finally made her big screen debut with a Hindi film titled ‘Luck’ and began a new chapter in life. However, the film did not quite live up to expectations and proved to be an underwhelming debut vehicle.
In the subsequent years, she entered the Telugu and Tamil industries with ‘Anaganaga O Dheerudu’ and ‘7aum Arivu’, respectively. In the years that followed, she found firm footing in the industry and delivered solid performances in films like ‘3’ and ‘Srimanthudu’ to name a few. Some of her other successful films include ‘Si 3’, ‘Yevadu’ and ‘Balupu’. Her notable B-town outings are ‘Rocky Handsome’ and ‘Gabbar is Back’.
Besides being an actress, Shruti is also a talented singer/musician. Some of her most popular songs include ‘Junction Lo’ and ‘Yaendi Yaendi ‘.
Some time ago, she had said that she enjoys composing but finds it a bit taxing.
“I loved scoring for a film, but it takes the Mickey out of you. Then I made a choice and decided I’d rather spend the time performing live. I miss performing live and that’s something I want to get back to doing,” she had told a leading daily.
At present, Shruti is awaiting the release of her delayed ‘Sabash Naidu’. It is a spy-comedy and will see her share screen space with her dad. A few months ago, she had said that working on it was a learning experience for her. Besides ‘Sabash Naidu’, she also has ‘Yaara’ in her kitty.
We wish her good luck and hope that 2018 turns out to be a good year for her. Oh, and here are some awesome personal pics of the ‘birthday girl’.
