There can be no denying that the highly talented R Madhavan is one of the most popular names in Tamil cinema today. During his eventful career, he has slowly but surely carved a niche for himself thanks to his sincere performances, lover boy looks and of course charming onscreen personality. Moreover, he has won the love of fans thanks to his soft-spoken and down to earth nature. Now, there is some good news for his fans. His last big Kollywood release ‘Vikram Vedha’ recently completed 100 days at the box office. And, the makers hosted a special function to celebrate the unforgettable occasion. At the event, Maddy spoke about the success of the film and said that it was Pushkar-Gayathri’s vision that made ‘Vikram Vedha’ a runaway hit at the box office. He went on to add that Y Not Studios is synonymous with progressive content and stressed that he was grateful to the whole team for coming up with a good film.

“I was very confident about Vikram Vedha. Even during the audio launch, I told everyone that I would talk about the film only during the 100th-day function. I feel YNot is one production house, which does progressive movies for the next generation.

I wish the team all the best. Without a doubt directors, Pushkar and Gayathri are the main reason for the success of Vikram Vedha. They used a lot of my suggestions, which was helpful for the success of the film, and they ignored a lot of my opinions too, which helped the movie even more. I need to thank everyone who has worked on this project. If the audience like a film, they will own it, Vikram Vedha is a classic example of that,” he added.

Echoing similar sentiments, Vijay Sethupathi said that film would feature in his biopic if it is ever made. He also added that it is his most successful film till date,

“I don’t even remember when was the last I was part of a 100th-day movie celebration. Dharmadurai was my only other film which had a 100th-day celebration. Vikram Vedha has already been talked about enough by everyone, so I don’t have anything new to say.

But I would like to mention that I have earned many people’s love and respect because of the film. Vikram Vedha has taken me to a new level. I need to thank my directors Pushkar and Gayathri for this opportunity. If someone decides to write a biopic on me, this film will hold a special place in that book, I believe,” he added.

In case you did not know, ‘Vikram Vedha’ was a crime-thriller and upon to a phenomenal response at the box office in July. In it, Maddy played the role of a cop with Vijay Sethupathi essayed the role of a gangster. It received rave reviews courtesy its gripping screenplay and impressive performances. With ‘Vikram Vedha’ in the rear view, Madhavan will now shift his attention to ‘Savyasachi’. The first Telugu film of his career, it will see him act alongside ‘Yuva Samrat’ Naga Chaitanya. Besides this, he also has a biopic in his kitty. The prep work for it is on and Maddy will be seen in a new look in it.

Sometime ago, he had revealed that he is taking tips from Aamir Khan for his physical transformation.

“The prep is taking me through different age groups, shapes and sizes. I have to put on weight to play the character in his older days, and I consulted Aamir for tips. He told me it’s better to do the heavier parts first so that I’m compelled to lose all the weight I put on,” he had told a leading daily.
