It is no secret that Suriya is one of the most successful and popular stars in Tamil cinema today. During his praiseworthy career, he has won the love of fans thanks to his effective performances, good looks and simple personality. Moreover, he is regarded as an inspiration by fans thanks to his enviable personal life. Now, he is in the news once again.
As it so happens, he was spotted earlier today at Kollywood’s protest meet regarding the Cauvery issue and anti-Sterlite controversy. And, as expected, he seemed to be in a serious mood and showed solidarity with his colleagues from the industry. Several stars—right from Kamal Haasan to Rajinikanth—have previously spoken on the issues and made their stand clear. Today’s protests are the industry’s way of showing how much they as a fraternity care about the issues. These actions could create a buzz in the political circles. It remains to be seen what happens next.
On the work front, Suriya was last seen in TSK and received praise for his work. A heist-thriller, it was directed by Vignesh Shivn and also had Keerthy Suresh in the lead. Released on Pongal, it did well at the ticket window while receiving rave reviews. While speaking about its success, Suriya had said that it helped him break stereotypes about his onscreen image.
“I didn’t want to miss this event at all. This has become a very important film for me. The reviews have been very good for the movie and the feedback I have received is that a lot has been broken in this film, from what I’ve done in my past four to five films. A lot of people have been saying I should do more films like these and the sole reason for this is Vignesh ShivN,” he had added.
He will next be seen in Selvaraghavan’s NGK.
