Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna’s latest big screen outing ‘Jai Simha’ finally hit screens today, much to the delight of his die-hard fans. An action-drama, the KS Ravikumar directorial has opened to a decent response at the box office while receiving a mixed reaction from moviegoers. However, the one thing that most fans seem to have liked a lot is its music. The Chirantan Bhatt-composed album has struck a chord with music lovers and added new life to ‘Jai Simha’. During an exclusive chat with Pinkvilla South, Bhatt spoke about working on ‘Jai Simha’ and said that it is an album that has something for everyone.
“Jai Simha is a versatile album in the sense that there is something for everyone. It has a mass number , a fun track and so on. It is a like a mix of everything,” he said.
Interestingly, Bhatt is no stranger to Tollywood. He has previously composed for ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ and ‘Kanche’. However, this the first time that he is composing for a contemporary Telugu film. Talking about the difference between composing for a contemporary film and a period one, he said that one needs to be careful about the type of instrument used for films sett in a particular era.
“It is easier to compose for a period film because when you compose for a period drama things such as the era in question have to be taken into consideration. Moreover, contemporary music is the same everywhere,” he added.
Opening up about his experience of working in Tollywood, he said that language is a barrier as he isn’t able to give inputs to the lyricist . However, he added that he tries to ensure that the melody sounds palatable in the language in question.
“ Language is definitely a barrier as I am unable to add his inputs to the lyrics. However, I work on the melody and ensure that it sounds good in Telugu,” added Bhatt.
Speaking about his future plans, he said that he is open to composing in all languages and variety to his music. He also revealed that currently, he is working on a Hindi project that will announce in some time.
Well, we wish Bhatt good luck and hope that he finds success in the future.
