During a recent interaction with IANS, Tamannaah opened up about being a part of the Telugu remake of ‘Queen’ and said that she feels she’ll be able to recreate the magic of the original. She went on to add that her film will not be a scene-to-scene remake of the Vikas Bahl directorial.
“It’s an exciting project and I love doing roles that talk about women empowerment. I’m confident we can recreate the magic of the original. At the same time, not make our film look like a frame-to-frame remake. We’ll adapt it to suit Telugu sensibilities,” added Tamannaah.
Besides this, the actress also stated that she was keen to star in Queen’s remake right from the time she saw the original.
“I wasn’t even sure if it was going to be remade. What makes ‘Queen’ special is that it’s one of those rare women-centric films which succeeded in reaching out to everybody, across all sections of the audience,” she added.
Well, we wish Tamannaah the very best for the Telugu remake of ‘Queen’ and hope that she impresses fans with her performance.
On a related note, ‘Queen’ is also being remade in Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam. The Kannada and Tamil remakes will feature Parul Yadav and the stylish Kajal Aggarwal, respectively. On the other hand, the Malayalam version—which is titled ‘Zam Zam’—has Manjima Mohan in the lead.
So, do you feel that Tamannaah is the right choice for the Telugu remake of ‘Queen’? Comments, please!
