The much-loved Kajal Aggarwal is arguably one of the most talented stars in South cinema today. And, now, she is in the limelight for a rather surprising reason. According to a report on Telugu Cinema.com, she was offered a role in Ravi Teja’s Amar Akbar Antony but she has turned it down. Apparently, the makers asked her to take a pay cut which she did not agree to.
The role ultimately went to the fast-rising Anu Emmanuel. Amar Akbar Antony was launched recently and features Ravi Teja in a triple role. It is being helmed by Srinu Vytla and will be a commercial entertainer. Srinu Vytla and Ravi Teja have previously collaborated for films like Nee Kosam and Venky to name a few. As such, fans are bound to have high hopes from this one.
As far as Kajal is concerned, she was last seen in AWE and received praise for her work. The ‘genre-bender’ was produced by actor Nani and did well at the box office. It also had Nithya Menen and Regina Cassandra in the lead. The supporting cast featured names like veteran actor Murali Sharma and Eesha Rebba.
At present, she has Paris Paris and MLA in her kitty. Paris Paris is a remake of Queen and will see her essay the role played by Kangana Ranaut in the Hindi version.
Sometime ago, she had said that this is a challenging film for her as her personality is different from that of her character.
“It’s going to be a big challenge for me to be that naive because my upbringing has been quite different. I’ve had a lot of exposure to the world, thanks to my family. And my friends, extended family have always been very supportive. For the character that I play in the film, she’s from a simple background who hasn’t seen the world yet,” she had told a leading website.
As far as MLA is concerned, it has been directed by newcomer Upendra and also has Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in the lead.
