Ram Charan: I signed SS Rajamouli’s multi-starrer without listening to the script

In 2009, Ram Charan collaborated with noted filmmaker SS Rajamouli for the highly ambitious Magadheera and delivered what many consider to be his finest performance yet. Also featuring Kajal Aggarwal in the lead, it did well at the box office and changed the tenets of Telugu cinema. Nearly nine years later, the ‘Mega Power Star’ is set to work with him again. Recently while talking about his latest film with SSR, Charan said that he agreed to it even without reading the script.

“I believe in Rajamouli. His stories have strong content and are character-driven. I’m yet to listen to the script. Rajamouli promised me he will narrate the script soon,” he added.

The film is a multi-starrer and also has actor Jr NTR in the lead. Young star Raashi Khanna is reportedly under consideration for the female lead, however, nothing is set in stone. According to a source, the film will start rolling only after Charan wraps up his film with Boyapati Sreenu and Tarak gets done with NTR 28.

“Rajamouli’s project will only go on the floors after NTR 28 because NTR will be in a different look for that project and he can’t shoot for both the projects simultaneously. If everything goes as planned, Rajamouli’s film will start rolling from October. The pre-production process will take a few months minimum as the film is being made on a lavish scale. Ram Charan, too, will complete Boyapati Sreenu’s project which went on the floors earlier this month. Charan is expected to join the sets soon after the release of Rangasthalam. The team has already completed one major schedule,” added the source.

Interestingly, this will be SSR’s first film post Baahubali 2. As such, there is a lot of curiosity about it. We sincerely hope that it turns out to be a blockbuster.
