According to a noted trade analyst, Ram Charan’s latest release Rangasthalam has created a record of sorts already. In an exciting development, it grossed more than $387K from its US premiere and became the toast of Tollywood fans in no time. This figure is higher than the $277k collected by Bruce Lee and is a career best for Charan. This is indeed a good beginning and we hope that Rangasthalam turns out to be a big hit.
In case you did not know, Rangasthalam is touted to be a romantic-drama and has been directed by Sukumar. In it, Charan will be seen playing a character named Chitti Babu and adding a new dimension to his onscreen image. It also has Samantha Akkineni in the lead and marks her first collaboration with the ‘Mega Power Star’. Her sweet an bubbly avatar is bound to be a major highlight of the film.
A few days ago, RC had said that Rangasthalam helped him understand the beauty of village life.
“Except for a couple of times as a kid when I visited the sets of my dad’s films in some villages, I have never spent quality time in a village. Rangasthalam gave me the opportunity to appreciate and celebrate what it means to live in a village. Life is so peaceful in a village and we can’t find pure and clean people anywhere else. I kept thinking how much we miss staying in the cities. I need to thank team Rangasthalam and director Sukumar for this life-changing experience and I should admit I discovered a new Ram Charan in this process,” he had added.
With Rangasthalam in theatres, Charan will turn his attention to his film with Boyapati Srinu. As far as Sam is concerned, she has Irumbu Thirai and the highly ambitious Savitri biopic AKA Mahanati in her kitty.
