The biopic on legendary actress Savitri titled as Mahanati received a huge appreciation across the globe. The film starring Keerthy Suresh in the lead won many hearts and looks like its biopic season in the industry. According to reports director, Teja is also working on a biopic based on the life of the deceased Telugu actor Uday Kiran. If reports are anything to go by, the director is planning an onscreen adaptation of late actor Uday Kiran’s life. Teja was supposed to direct NTR’s biopic. However, due to some reasons, he walked out of the project and looks like he is now eyeing to bring a life of Uday Kiran on the big screen.
Teja has closely worked with Uday Kiran even since the actor made his acting debut with Chitram. While their film Nuvvu Nenu was a runaway hit, Avunanna Kaadanna was a dud at the box-office. It was being said that Chiranjeevi’s family was behind Uday’s sudden downfall in the career. Uday was engaged to Chiranjeevi’s elder daughter Sushmitha in 2003. However, Chiranjeevi due to some astrology reasons asked them to end the relationship. Uday then got married to Vishitha in 2012. There were quite a few reports that due to his bitter relationship with Chiranjeevi, Uday never got film offers.
Uday Kiran, who made his acting debut with Teja’s Chitram (2000) at the age of 19, went onto become one of the promising young heroes of Telugu cinema. He gave many hits but could not make it for long. Unable to cope with depression, he committed suicide on January 5, 2014.
Well, with too many controversies and ups and down in his life, it remains to see how Teja brings all these on the big screen. It also remains to see if Teja includes these instances in Uday Kiran’s biopic.
The official announcement on this biopic is expected soon!
