During a recent interaction with a leading daily, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan opened up about the phenomenal success attained by the Baahubal saga in the Hindi belt and made a few valid point.
He said that Hindi dubbed version of the SS Rajamouli-directed film fared well at the box office as the Bollywood audience is always ready to accept all types of films. Moreover, he stressed that Bollywood films can’t do such business in the South as fans there are always loyal to their favourites.
“The most amazing thing about Baahubali’s success is that the Hindi audiences are so accepting. They have made a Telugu film so large, even though they do not know south heroes apart from three or four of them. South audiences know us there; yet, our films do not do that volume of business because their fans have an extraordinary sense of loyalty to their actors. Fan following is very strong — if there is a Kamal Haasan fan, then he will be a Kamal fan forever; Rajinikanth fan will be a Rajinikanth fan for life,” he added.
In case you didn’t know, the Baahubali saga revolved around the war between two brothers over an ancient kingdom and featured Prabhas in the lead. ‘Baaahubali 2’—which was released 2 years after the first part—hit screens this April and fared well at the box office while receiving rave reviews along the way.
On a related note, this is a busty time for ‘Bhai’. He is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Tubelight’ Directed by Kabir Khan, it will hit screens this Eid.
